Where the Durban boat rides depart
Every cruise leaves from Wilson's Wharf, Victoria Embankment (Margaret Mncadi Ave), Durban Point Waterfront. Boarding is at the marina, so plan to arrive 20 minutes before your departure time — the yacht sails on schedule and late arrivals may be refused boarding. What a one-hour cruise costs
Shared boat rides are priced per seat, flat per session and never multiplied by the number of hours: R225 per adult, R150 per child under 16 and R180 per pensioner. Two adults and one child is R600 before any add-ons. Children must be accompanied by at least one adult. Your seats include the skipper, crew and safety equipment, along with soft beverages, ice and chilled bottled water.
How booking and payment work
Choose a date and one of that day's departure times, set your adult and child numbers, and submit the booking — guest names are optional. Online bookings need at least 24 hours' notice, so the calendar opens from tomorrow onward. Pay by ABSA EFT (bank transfer) or — for shared cruises, where the booking page offers it — choose Pay in store and pay in cash or by card at the counter at Wilson's Wharf before your cruise; there is no online card payment on this website. For EFT, use your booking reference as the payment reference, then email your proof of payment. Sending proof does not by itself confirm the payment: an administrator verifies every transfer, usually within 24 hours, and only then is your booking confirmed and your QR tickets released.
Private yacht hire
The whole yacht can be reserved for a private event of one, two, three or four hours, for up to 67 guests — birthdays, photoshoots, sundowners and celebrations. It is priced for the whole yacht, never per person, at R12 000 an hour: R12 000 for 1 hour, R24 000 for 2 hours, R36 000 for 3 hours and R48 000 for 4 hours. What time do the Durban boat rides leave?
Monday to Friday, one-hour cruises depart at 08:00, 09:30, 11:00, 12:30, 14:00 and the 16:30 Sunset Cruise; Saturday and Sunday at 08:00, 09:30, 11:00, 12:30, 14:00, 15:30, 17:00 and 18:30 (Africa/Johannesburg time). There is a 30-minute turnaround between sailings; the last weekday cruise returns at 17:30 and the last weekend cruise at 19:30.
